South Texas ISD officials spent the second day of school moving students around after a power failure hit the Science Academy of South Texas.
District spokeswoman Andi Atkinson told Action 4 News that a transformer went out taking down power to the Science Academy campus and one classroom at Med High.
Atkinson told Aciton 4 News that school officials are not cancelling classes.
Instead, administrators are moving Science Academy students to the Biblioteca de las Americas and the neighboring Marble Arch Banquet Hall until power is restored.
It’s not clear what caused the power failure but Atkinson said AEP is at the scene to restore power as soon as possible.
