This afternoon some local residents protested in Brownsville in front of Congressman Solomon Ortiz's office about the reform plan.
It was a Tea Party protest, which stands for Taxed Enough Already.
The group calls the health care proposal unconstitutional and organized this protest to coincide with other demonstrations across the nation.
"I'm afraid of it. I'm afraid of it because not today but in 10-15 years I'm going to be one of those seniors that's having somebody do and end of life conference with me. I don't think that's the place of a doctor," said protester Sally Burke.
Protesters say they decided to hit the streets to get more exposure than they would get in a townhall meeting.
