New details are expected to be announced Monday afternoon about a theft case in Brownsville involving a concert promoter.

Hiro Hariram has been charged with felony theft after allegedly scamming the City of Brownsville out of almost $10,000 for a concert that never happened.

City officials said they signed a contract with the 33-year-old promoter for a Fourth of July show in Brownsville.

Hariram allegedly claimed he was the concert promoter for the band Boyz II Men.

Brownsville city officials later announced the concert was cancelled "due to unforeseen circumstances."

The band was already to booked to play the Independence Day holiday in Ohio.

Hariram's attorney Michael Young told Action 4 News he is holding a press conference on 2 p.m. Monday to speak about the theft case.

Action 4 News will be there and you can watch Action 4 News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. for the full report.
