The Rio Grande Valley and several other parts of the United States have been experiencing triple-digit heat for the past two or three weeks.

Two meteorologists in Redding, California decided they would take advantage of the heat for an experiment.

The two tried to bake chocolate-chip cookies inside a car parked outside the station.

It didn't take long for the temperature inside the car to go above 100 degrees.

The two meteorologists waited and passed out the cookies to their co-workers.
