Immigrant loses leg, hand in Reynosa train accident

A Guatemalan immigrant is recovering in a Reynosa hospital after losing his left hand and left leg in an accident involving a train.

The Metro Noticias de Tamaulipas newspaper reported the disfiguring accident in its online edition Monday.

The newspaper reported that Paulino Guadalupe Gómez-López was trying to hop a train headed to Matamoros over the weekend when he fell under the wheels.

The 40-year-old Guatemalan immigrant survived but ending up losing his left hand and left leg in the accident.

Metro Noticias de Tamaulipas reported that Gómez-López remains at Reynosa’s General Hospital where he is recovering from the accident.
