An alleged drag race outside La Feria ended with a two-vehicle wreck and the arrest of a high school student.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers arrested Guadalupe Hernandez III on drag racing charges.

The 17-year-old student was allegedly engaged in a race with another car along Rabb Road on Tuesday night.

It’s not clear if Hernandez has a driver’s license but court records show he gave the trooper a high school ID as proof of identification.

The state trooper arrested Hernandez under drag racing charges after the teen admitted to driving one of the cars involved wreck.

A witness identified Hernandez’s car as being one of the two vehicles involved in the race.
