A crime spree of vehicle thefts came to an end thanks to Brownsville police.

Several vehicles were stolen in several parts of the city on Sunday.

Officers arrested three men after spotting them driving a stolen Jeep Liberty.

Julio Morales, Sergio Morales and Rolando Gonzalez were taken in for questioning.

According to police, the men then admitted to six other car thefts.

Investigators believe the men are responsible for up to 20 vehicle thefts in Brownsville.

"Basically they come into Brownsville, they cruise around until they find a vehicle that they want and that they're able to break into quickly," Sgt. Jimmy Manrrique explained.  "Then they break in through the drivers side window."

Some of the targeted areas in Brownsville have been Janet Lane, Austrian Pine and Pine Creek.

Police remind motorists to lock car doors and leave valuables out of plain sight.
