HARLINGEN -- Construction will begin soon for the new clubhouse at the Harlingen Country Club.
Crews are expected to break ground in August.
The clubhouse will have a larger banquet hall, a state of the art swimming pool and a remodeled fitness facility.
The clubhouse will also serve citizens of Harlingen.
"It is not just for our members, it's an asset for the whole community and will help Harlingen grow into the future and development of the city we all hope it will become," explained General Manager Tom Bloemendaal.
The new clubhouse will cost $7 million and should be complete by the fall of 2010.
