This weekend, you can be a hero.

Action 4 News and United Blood Services have teamed up for the annual Battle 4 Blood on Saturday and Sunday.

You can donate blood at all three Rio Grande Valley malls from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday and again Sunday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.

"Summertime has been a challenge, so anyone who is eligible should come out and participate for our Battle 4 Blood and help stock our blood bank," said Esthela Saenz with UBS.

Donors will receive a pint of Blue Bell ice cream, a Battle 4 Blood t-shirt and the chance to win a $250 gift card to WalMart.
