RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS -- Gas prices remain steady Tuesday, but those numbers may increase soon.

A price hike usually happens as Americans prepare for summer road trips and vacations.

In Harlingen and Brownsville, regular unleaded gas is around $2.38 per gallon.

In McAllen, you can find a gallon of regular gasoline for $2.39.

"A lot of hard working Americans are working hard and gas prices just keep going up," said David Gutierrez.  "It is not right.  We can't cope with this economy right now."

Luis Castillo agreed.  "You have to cut back on everything right now.  There is no reason for the prices to go back up again."
