Reynosa teacher jailed for alleged relationship

A Reynosa teacher is behind bars after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old student who he planned to marry.

The Metro Noticias de Tamaulipas newspaper reported the early Friday morning arrest of Eduardo Cardenas-Jimenez.

The newspaper reported that the 34-year-old secondary school teacher on sexual abuse charges.

Metro Noticias reported at the girl’s parents filed charges after learning Cardenas-Jimenez had an sexual relationship with their daughter.

Cardneas-Jimenez told Metro Noticias that he had been going out with the girl for at least seven months and planned to marry her.

He told the newspaper that he asked his would-be in-laws for permission to marry the girl when his would-be father-in-law slapped him and accused him of rape.
