A Cameron County grand jury has indicted a local post office employee for stealing gift cards, an iPod, jewelry and cash from the mail.

Court records show that the grand jury indicted the employee with last week but that he has not been arrested or turned himself in on the case.

The indictment does not state exact title but states that he is an U.S. Postal Service employee in Cameron County.

The one-count indictment lists 16 alleged incidents of theft from mail and package.

The majority of the alleged crimes involve the theft of gift cards but the indictment also shows he took an iPod, jewelry and cash.
