MCALLEN, TEXAS -- It was worth the hassle, they got their tassel.

More than 2,300 students graduated over the weekend from South Texas College.

89 of those students received their Bachelors degree.

Two of the graduates are still in high school and received their Associates degree through duel enrollment classes.

For many of the students, graduating is a milestone for their work and efforts.

"I'm a single mother and I've worked so hard for this," said Sandra Ellizama.  "To have my friends and family supporting me as I graduate is awesome and very exciting."

Action 4 News congratulates all the graduates from the Class of 2009.
