Two PSJA schools briefly went into lockdown while police searched for a suspect on the run Thursday morning.

PSJA Independent School District officials said Bowie Elementary School and PSJA Memorial High School went into lockdown at approximately 9:35 a.m. Thursday.

School district officials said the lockdown lasted 15 minutes while authorities searched for a suspect on the run near Tower and Ridge Roads.

Officials said schools were notified quickly and the lockdown was a measure a precaution to ensure the safety of the students.
