MCALLEN, TEXAS -- South Texas Health System was recently awarded a contract by the Veterans' Administration to provide medical care and treatment to Veterans in the South Texas area.
In an effort to increase VA enrollment and inform area veterans on the medical services available to them, South Texas Health System will hold the first of several VA Enrollment Fairs on Saturday, May 16, at McAllen Medical Center from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
McAllen Medical Center is located at 310 West Expressway 83 in McAllen.
The Hidalgo County Veterans Services Office will be there with applications for health care benefits.
Veterans need to bring a copy of their DD214 (discharge papers) for enrollment.
South Texas Health System is providing a variety of health screenings for Veterans and their families.
In addition, family entertainment, food and many door prizes will also be available.
