Streets Of Speed: Cracking Down on Seat Belt Violators

The search is on for a woman who was driving with five children not using their seat belts.

The Speedzapper joined forces with the Texas Department of Transportation and police to crack down on seat belt violations.

The annual Click It Or Ticket campaign launched on Monday to remind Texas residents to buckle up their children.

The Speedzapper revisited the Willacy County town of Lyford to see if a now infamous woman who had five children unbuckled could be caught.

She was not spotted but the Speedzapper found plent of other violators.

Occupant restraint laws for children in Texas is as follows:

A child under 5 years of age and less than 36 inches in height must be in a proper car seat. 

Children  under 17 years of age must be secured by a safety belt whether seated in the front or back.
