A La Joya elementary school teacher is in trouble with the law for allegedly touching a first grader inapropriately.

Javier Salazar is accused of molesting a 7-year-old girl.

The alleged indecency happened at Paredes Elementary School back in February.

The 57-year-old teacher has since resigned.

He was arrested on Monday on a second-degree felony indecency with a child charge.
