EDINBURG -- April is Youth Art Show Month across the country, and the Edinburg school district is proudly displaying some of its work.

The district has set up an art exhibit at the Dusty Sekula Memorial Library.

The art show has been an Edinburg tradition for over 20 years, and organizers say it provides students an outlet of expression.

This art show is unique because it is not a competition.

"As you look around, we don't have a first place, second place or anything like that," said organizer Lily Cabrera. "The teachers select from the various assignments that they produce throughout the year, so it gives a great thorough variety of work."

The art show kicks off Thursday with an opening ceremony and runs through April 22.
