A tortillería owner issued a Call 4 Action after receiving a gas bill for over $6,000 dollars.
Adelina De Leon makes a living selling tortillas, barbacoa and tamales outside of Raymondville.
The Willacy County woman said her family-owned business, A&A Tortillería, could go under.
But De Leon is not blaming the recession, she blames an outrageous $6,383.55 dollar gas bill due on April 1.
De León said she noticed her natural gas bills lower than usual over the past few months.
She said her natural gas bills ranged from $38 to $39 dollars over the past year.
She called Texas Gas Service to make sure there was no error.
De Leon said someone from the gas company showed up and checked the meter and told them every looked fine.
But last month, when she received her latest statement she was shocked to learn the bill was totaling $6,383.55.
She immediately got on the phone with the gas company
De Leon said she spoke with customer service but they only seemed to care about getting the bill paid and not listening to her.
The Willacy County woman thought the meter reader may have accidently connected the neighbors to her line.
Her $6,000 dollar bill due by April 1 with fears she might end up losing her business for failure to make the large payment.
But thankfully, Action 4 News was able to answer this Call 4 Action.
Action 4 News contacted a representative from the Texas Gas Service for answers and she promised to look into the matter.
The representative confirmed that there was a mistake on the bill and that Texas Gas Service would send De Leon a new and correct bill right away without interrupting her service.
