Brownsville man arrested for abduction, molesting 7-year-old girl

A Cameron County man is behind bars after he allegedly pulled a little girl from riding her bike and molested her.

Brownsville police arrested Jose Salazar on idecency with a child by contact charges on Tuesday.

Investigators said the 7-year-old girl was riding her bike down her street when Salazar allegedly approached her.

Brownsville Police Sgt. Jimmy Manrrique said Salazar allegedly pulled her into his car and sexually assaulted her.

"She reported that this 47-year-old man actually had grabbed her and fondled her and she was able to get away," Manrrique said.

The 7-year-old identified the suspect through a picture and police arrested him immediately.
