EDINBURG, TEXAS -- Winter visitors from over a dozen R.V. parks demonstrated Monday at the Hidalgo County Courthouse.

They want swift justice in a lawsuit filed against the appraisal district, which calls for an end to taxation on their mobile homes.

They want the judge to rule the taxes unfair, and they were hoping for a judge's ruling before they head back home in a couple of weeks.

"We rent.  We own no property.  The property has already had the tax paid on it by the owner of the property," explained one outraged visitor.

According to the appraisal district, a new house bill specifies that trailor units used as temporary living quarters are exempt.

However, units with fixed canopies or additions are taxable.
