Edinburg Firefighters with the assistance of Hidalgo County and surrounding agenices are battling a blaze that erupted inside a junkyard about 4 blocks west of 281 on Monte Cristo Road.

Traffic had been detoured away from the area for a short time Tuesday afternoon, but Hidalgo County Emergency Administrator Tony Pena tells Action 4 News the road is open in both directions now.

The fire has been contained to one area of the junkyard and no injuries have been reported.
