Holy match-sticks Batman!
Looks like we are in for a long, warm, dry and breezy spring across the Rio Grande Valley.
The global meteorologists and the U.S. National Weather Service are pointing to a mild case of “La Niña,” which should put us in the dry slot through April.
Little rain and lots of wind equals a nasty fire hazard as well, you can expect plenty of advisories telling you not to burn outdoors this season.
We had nearly the same set up last spring leaving much of Texas in a drought while it was one of the deadliest severe weather seasons on record for the good folks up in Tornado Alley.
Once again, Mother Nature provides on or the other, feast or famine.
Here in The Valley we can expect daytime highs 8, 10 and even 12 degrees above normal (normal is 74+) and south to southeast winds off and on 25 to 35mph.
It won’t be like this every day but more often than not we will be praying for precipitation and adding to our huge collection of kites.
