EDINBURG, TEXAS -- Rio Grande Valley veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are planning another 250-mile march from the city of Edinburg to San Antonio to push for a VA hosptial in Deep South Texas.

America's Last Patrol staged a similar march in November 2005.

Now a group of younger vets who served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars told Action 4 News that they want to do it again this Spring Break.

They feel like they need to get the issue back in the public spotlight.

"We are in desperate need of a VA hospital for the Rio Grande Valley," said veteran Arturo Treto Garza. "We have been asking for one for the past 30 years and it's time that we get one."

Activists say they will march during Spring Break in hopes of drawing a younger crowd to the issue.

For more information about the march, contact Jesus Bocanegra at (956) 246-8342.
