The trial for a murder suspect who worked as an ice cream man stalled pending DNA results.

Victor Hugo Soto was one of Hidalgo County's most wanted.

He wanted for the 2003 shooting death of 20-year-old Carlos Vasquez in Lopezville.

Soto was considered a fugitive for five years.

But authorities finally caught him after they learned he had been working in an ice cream van.

Soto could face up to life in prison if convicted of murder.

Prosecutors told Action 4 News his murder trial is on hold pending the results of DNA tests.
