A Freeze Warning is in effect for Hidalgo, Starr and Kenedy counties from 10 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Cold, arctic air will surge into deep South Texas behind the cold front that moved through the Rio Grande Valley early on Wednesday morning.
An area of strong high pressure will bring clear skies tonight.
This will allow overnight temperatures to dip below freezing across most areas of Deep South Texas.
Willacy and Cameron counties are NOT included in this Freeze Warning; however, very cold temperatures near the freezing mark are possible.
A Freeze Warning is issued when temperatures are expected to fall between 28 to 32 degrees for at least two hours over a widespread area.
It is advised that ALL Valley residents bring their pets indoors and cover or move cold sensitive plants indoors.
