Low temperatures and soggy weather will briefly visit the Rio Grande Valley.
A cold front will drop in around 2 a.m. on Friday morning.
This frontal system will be much different than last week’s cold front that brought dry, crisp air and sunny skies.
The air mass behind the approaching front is very shallow and less dense, so the cold weather will be short-lived.
Plus, more moisture, thick cloud coverage and strong northerly winds will arrive along the frontal boundary.
On Friday, spotty showers will linger from midnight through the afternoon.
Winds between 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph will increase from the northeast around 3 a.m.
These gusty winds will shift from the north-northwest by the afternoon.
Temperatures will only reach near 60 degrees on Friday afternoon with overnight lows dipping near 40 degrees.
High temperatures will quickly rebound to the 70s on Saturday and the 80s by Sunday.
