Cameron County voters re-elected Omar Lucio as Sheriff.

The Tuesday night victory was Lucio's third term has sheriff. Lucio was unseated in 2000 by Conrado Cantu but won the seat back in 2004.

With 98 of 98 precincts reporting at 12:31 a.m. Wednesday, Lucio received 48,357 votes or 65 percent of the ballot.

Republican challenger Joe Cisneros received 25,772 votes or 35 percent of the ballot.

Lucio touted his experience as deciding factor for voters.
