Cornyn picks up momentum

Texas' U.S. Senate incumbent John Cornyn has picked up momentum as precincts start to report results from across the state.

The Republican incumbent has received 1,628,286 votes or 50 percent of the ballot as of 7:49 p.m. Tuesday.

Democrat challenger Rick Noriega lead in early voting but has since to 49 percent of the ballot or 1,542,511 votes.
