60,000 turn out in first week of early voting

Almost 60,000 people have turned out during the first week of early voting in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties.

Cameron County officials reported that 18,391 people turned out to vote early through Sunday.

Another 40,894 peple turned out in neighboring Hidalgo County through Sunday and another 6,453 coming to the polls on Monday.

Elections officials told Action 4 News they expect turnout to break the record set in the Novmember 2004 General Election.
