Brownsville police arrested a man who allegedly killed a 52-year-old woman in a September hit-and-run accident.
Investigators charged Juan Picazo for the death of Carmen Gonzalez and the injury of her daughter-in-law Amara Tara Gonzalez.
The two women were riding their bicycles along West Elizabeth Street when they were hit by an SUV during the early morning hours of Sept. 11.
Carmen Gonzalez died from her injuries while Amara was hospitalized.
An investigation led police to Picazo, who was arrested on Friday.
Picazo allegedly admitted to being the driver of the a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee that fled the scene of the accident.
The 24-year-old man is being held under $125,000 bonds for an accident involving death charge and one count of accident involving injury.
