Evins inmate found hiding on facility

Officials said it's still unclear why an 16-year-old inmate at the Evins Regional Juvenile Detention Center hid from guards on Tuesday.

The 16-year-old was reported missing around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Authorities searched the jail and surrounding area.

The boy was found around 6 p.m. Tuesday hiding in an area inside the detention center.

No word yet on whether the teen will face any charges for the incident.
