A man is behind bars after being accused of sexually abusing a child in La Feria.

La Feria police arrested Roberto Sanchez on sexual abuse charges late Wednesday.

Details were not immediately available about the investigation.

But police charged Sanchez with sexual assault of a child and continuous sexual assault of a child.

Sanchez appeared before Cameron County Justice of the Peace Mike Trejo on Thursday morning.

Judge Sanchez issued Sanchez $150,000 dollars in bonds.
