A woman was charged with assault after she attacked her son’s girlfriend.

The attack happened in the Harlingen Home Depot parking lot on Wednesday evening.

According to police, Paulina Puga punched her son’s girlfriend on the top of her head, scratched her stomach and bit her on her arm.

The argument was reportedly over Puga’s disapproval of her son dating the victim.

Officers arrested the 46-year-old mother and took her to the city jail.

Her bond for the assault charge was set at $1,200.
