Two teen brothers were involved in a fatal crash Thursday afternoon.

The 16-year-old died at the scene and his 14-year-old brother was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The accident happened on 9th Street and South Garza in La Joya.

According to investigators, the teens were traveling in a red Camaro when they crashed into a fence.

The 16-year-old was ejected from the vehicle. His brother was injured, but still able to get out of the car.

Family and friends of the brothers confirmed that the victim is Marco Martinez, an 11th grader from La Joya West Academy.

The family told Action 4 News they live a block away from where the accident happened.

They heard the accident happen and ran to the scene.

Investigators are unsure which brother was driving the car, but believe they lost control.

Action 4 News will provide new details as more information becomes available.

Authorities say there is a racing problem in this area, but are not sure if that is what led to the crash.

The family also told Action 4 News they lost another brother eight years ago in a car accident.
