Edinburg police are searching for a man accused of severely beating his girlfriend.

Investigators are searching for Angel Ernesto Ponce.

He is accused of breaking into Cindy Melchor’s home, and viciously attacking her on March 7th.

Melchor suffered multiple cuts and bruises on her face.

Melchor contacted Action 4 News, after an arrest warrant was issued asking for the public’s help in finding him.

"I don't feel at rest until he is caught. I don't feel safe when I’m walking home from school,” Melchor said.

“I don't feel safe when I’m alone. When I hear noises at night I’m up at night thinking it’s him trying to break in. It's scary to have to live like that, to not feel safe in your own home."

Lt. Oscar Rodriguez told tAction 4 News they have alerted police departments valley wide to be on the lookout for Ponce.

If you can help locate Ponce, call the Edinburg Police Department at (956) 289-7700
