Authorities are investigating how bundles of illegal drugs ended up in a park next to the Gateway International Bridge.

It all happened along the Rio Grande River in Hope Park just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Brownsville police and Border Patrol are investigating the incident.

According to reports, the drug bundles were found in a sewer system drainage pipe.

Both the park and the sewage line has been used for drug and immigrant smuggling in the past.

No arrests have been made but the case remains under investigation.
