A Harlingen home was completely destroyed after a fire broke out Saturday night.

The blaze began at midnight at a home on the 400 block of Austin Avenue.

Harlingen Fire Department said the homeowners were not there during the time of the fire.

The home was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire fighters were able to put out the blaze just in time so no nearby homes were affected.

Investigators were at the scene Sunday morning to figure out what could have caused the fire.

A portion of Austin Avenue was temporarily shut down for the investigation.
