A judge has denied bond for a man accused of killing a San Benito school district employee in an accident where alcohol and speed allegedly played a factors.

San Benito police charged 21-year-old Felipe Sanchez, Jr. on an intoxication manslaughter charge on Friday.

Sanchez is accused in the death of 38-year-old Juan Luis Espinoza, a San Benito Consolidated Independent School District employee.

Investigators reported that Espinoza was on his way to work on his motorcycle and headed north on FM 732 when Sanchez's southbound Ford Mustang crossed lanes.

The head-on impact killed Espinoza and flipped Sanchez's car upside down.

Paramedics rushed Sanchez to a hospital to treat a fracture to his left foot but officers arrested him when he was released.

Investigators believe alcohol and speed played as factors in the accident.

Sanchez appeared before San Benito Municipal Court Judge Ben Yudesis who denied bond.

Court records show that Sanchez also had served six months in jail for deadly conduct and was out on probation at the time of his arrest for Espinoza's death.

The records show that authorites had filed a motion to revoke his probation back in January for violating the terms of his release.
