A San Benito man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly turned on his daughter while she was on the phone to report him attacking her mother.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Ramiro Valdez on multiple criminal charges late Monday night.

Court records show that it all started at the family's Nelson Road home when Valdez was arguing with his wife for about an hour.

Valdez allegedly became physically aggressive and pushed his wife.

The couple's young daughter tried to call 911 but Valdez allegedly grabbed the girl by the wrist.

Valdez allegedly pushed her against the wall when she didn't let go of the phone.

Paramedics were called to the home to look at the girl becuase of her age.

Deputies charged Valdez with injury to a child, assault family violence and interfering with an emergency call.

Investigators notified Child Protective Services about the incident.

Valdez appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Judge Alfredo Padilla on Tuesday morning where he was issued $15,000 dollars in bonds.
