La Joya, Alton and Palmview Fire Departments all responded to a fire Saturday evening.

The fire broke out at around 6:40 p.m. in an open field.

The field is located on Mile 5 and Iowa Road.

It took two hours for the fire department’s to control the blaze.

Alton Fire Department brought in their large water tanker.

The owner of the property did have a permit to burn on the land, but because the property was so large the fire got out of control.

Investigators are still working on the case.
