Texas Rangers called to help search for missing Lyford woman

The search continues for missing 41-year-old Maria Guadalupe Hernandez.

The Texas Rangers have been called to help look for the Lyford woman who has been missing since Jan. 23.

The agency has offered the use of their helicopter since authorities believe Hernandez may have gone deep into the brush.

Hernandez left for a routine evening walk that Jan. 23 afternoon and never returned home.

Family members told Action 4  News that they fear the worst as they have been searching nearby wooded areas, hoping to find her.

Lyford police, firefighters and Border Patrol have been leading the search.

Hernandez has black hair, brown eyes and is described as 5 feet 6 inches and weighing about 130 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a blue shirt and black jeans

Anyone with information should contact the Lyford Police Department at 793-4198.
