Trio busted for shopping with fake credit cards

A credit card scam linked to thousands of dollars in purchases is derailed.

McAllen Police Department arrested and charged Miguel Coppinger-Chamorro of Edinburg, Luis Alberto Perez of Miami, Florida, and Pricilla Esperanza Garza of Edinburg for utilizing fictitious cards at stores across the Valley.

Police reports revealed the men were using fake credit cards at local gas stations to purchase diesel fuel while the female suspect was making big purchases at retails stores.

Investigators did seize evidence linked to the case on Tuesday.

Coppinger-Chamorro was charged with 15 counts of credit card abuse.

His bond was set at $750,000 dollars.

Perez is facing four counts of  credit card abuse.

His bond was $200,000.

Garcia is facing three counts of credit card abuse.

All are facing felony charges.
