A Harlingen man was arrested after he threatened to kill his common-law-wife, her son, mother and father.

The woman first warned police about Terry Michael Stephenson on Tuesday.

She told police that after an argument, Stephenson punched her in the chest, put his hand over her mouth and held a knife to her neck.

On Wednesday, the 32-year-old, dressed in black, showed up to the woman’s house and threatened to kill her family if he was not allowed inside.

When she did not let him come into the house, Stephenson tried cutting her with a knife.

Police arrived to the scene and arrested Stephenson.

He was charged with aggravated assault-family violence and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Stephenson’s bonds total $150,000.
