A traffic accident along Expressway 83 created big traffic problems Thursday afternoon.
DPS Trooper Maria Hernandez told Action 4 News an 18-wheeler with a blown out tire was hit while trying to exit onto the eastbound frontage road of 83.
Hernandez said cargo on top of a utility truck struck the rig on the top upper right side, scattering debris across the runway.
Motorist quickly stopped to avoid the wreckage backing up traffic for more than a mile just before 2 p.m. Thursday.
Traffic was directed to exit Victoria RD and travel on the eastbound lanes of the frontage road for about 45 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
