A gray fox that was trapped on the top of the roof of a Harlingen business is back in the wild.

The fox created a stir at the Colonial Plaza off East Tyler Street on Friday.

Witnesses said they first saw the fox on the roof of the building around 6:45 a.m. Friday.

The fox spent the day on the roof drawing many onlookers.

A Texas Parks & Wildlife Department game warden went out to the scene late Friday afternoon.

While the game warden was there, the fox jumped down and ran across the street.

Wildlife officials believe the fox was up there voluntarily and probably goes up there often.
