Jury finds Harlingen man guilty of sexual abusing little girl

A jury handed down a verdict and found a Harlingen man guilty of a sexually abusing a girl since she was eight years old.

Ronald Blake Fears had been on trial before Judge Arturo Cisneros Nelson in the 138th State District Court.

The girl, who is now 15 years old, testified against Fears during the trial.

A jury took two hours on Tuesday to deliberate and find Fears guilty of continous sexual abuse of a child and indecency with a child.

Fears remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail but is expected to appear for sentencing on January 29th.

The Harlingen man faces a minimum 25-year sentence with no opportunity for parole or early release.
