Emotions were high as Brandy Villarreal talked about her missing father, Rene Villarreal.

"I just want him home," she said, with tears in her eyes.

Villarreal has been missing since Saturday night, last seen at around 10 p.m. at his home on Scenic Lane in Harlingen.

"He said he would be back,” said his daughter, Brandy. “He said he was just going to go out for a little bit and just come back home."

But the 47-year-old man never returned home.

His daughter says he has never done anything like this before, and the family says they have no idea where to look first.

"This has never happened,” said Brandy. “So we just assumed he came over to his mom's house. We called aunts, uncles, everything, and they haven't heard from him. It's just random, it's not expected."

Villarreal is the manager over at Pittsburg Paints in Harlingen.

Action 4 spoke with employees at the shop, and they say it is completely out of character for their manager to miss work.

Investigators in Cameron County have listed Villarreal as a missing person, and continue to search for him and his vehicle, a 1999 taupe-colored suburban.

"I just really want him home,” said Brandy. “It's a huge thing, that's my father. It's not just a lost puppy, that's my dad, and he means everything to me."

Anyone with information on Villarreal’s whereabouts are urged to call Harlingen Police or the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department at (956) 554-6700.
