An Edinburg building that has been abandoned for over half a decade is receiving new light.

Once planned to be an Alamo Drafthouse, The Monitor reports the vacant theater on Trenton and Jackson will be open for the Valley’s movie-going fans.

However, Cinemark has decided to take over the building and renovate it into their own dinner theater.

The Cinemark Movie Bistro will offer dining options for customers while they watch a movie.

The theatre plans to open Summer 2013.

El Paso is also making plans to build a Cinemark Movie Bistro. They hope to open Summer 2013 as well.
