A Christmas Eve shooting suspect is facing new charges after pushing a San Juan police officer to the ground during an overnight escape attempt.

Authorities arrested Arnulfo Silguero at a home in Progreso on Wednesday afternoon.

The 50-year-old man is facing an attempted capital murder charge after shooting his brother-in-law following a Christmas Eve argument in San Juan.

Silguero remained on the run but was allegedly harbored by his wife Armandina Gonzalez and son Andres Arnulfo Silguero, who are now facing criminal charges of their own.

San Juan police told Action 4 News that investigators wanted to keep Silguero separated from his wife and son following their arrests on harboring a fugitive charges..

Officers took Silguero to the Alamo City Jail on Wednesday night where he allegedly pushed a San Juan police officer to the ground and ran off.

Investigators said Silguero didn't make it very far before getting caught.

He's now facing an escape from custody charge in addition to the attempted capital murder charge.

Silguero, his wife and son all faced a judge on Thursday.

The judge issued a $1 million dollar bond for Silguero and $200,000 dollar bonds for his wife and son.
